Are you Ready?

Are you ready for...school finishing, settling down, your wedding day, having your baby, getting older, death? Most of all are you ready to share Jesus with others and to see Him face to face?

This reality came true this week...

My husband and I moved into our current house two years ago this week. We have grown fond of our neighborhood, especially our next door neighbors. We have spent hours talking and laughing with them. Both my husband and I enjoy their company.

Nonetheless, our neighbor has battled heart problems since she was born. Last October she had her heart "rebuilt" and made almost new. She started getting her "life" back, after so many months of physical problems. However, last Wednesday we found out that our neighbor past away on Monday. She lost consciences at the wheel, drove off the road and during that time..she died.

...she was too young to die

...she was my age

...I was shocked, sad, and most of all mad

I had so many opportunities to talk to her about Jesus, but I wasn't ready. I wanted to wait for the "right" moment...

...what would be the "right moment?

...when would I be ready?

This week has been hard because I should have been ready to lead our neighbors to Christ... {I had plenty of opportunities to do so}... Every moment we talked should have been the "right" moment...

...what was I waiting for?

...I should have been ready

...I should have asked her if she knew Jesus

Now, I have lost this opportunity with my neighbor... my heart aches not only for her death, but knowing if she will get to see Jesus face to face.

God calls us to be ready... no matter what!
